About US

That’s us. Tony on left and Praveen, right. We had a great time building our first yurt in 2019. 150 odd yurts later, we still have a fabulous time building them. The only difference from then is that with time we have become more anal about our processes and probably, a little happy too with ourselves. But don’t be too hasty in blaming us for that — get yourself a yurt and trust us, you’ll feel happy with yourself too!

Us+

This is all of us. And as Ray Kroc famously said, none of us is as good as all of us. There’s Kishan in there, there’s Chandru, there’s Ravi, carpenters, engineers, architects, and so on. Each of us brings in a different skill. Each of us also brings a duffel bag of opinions, angles and slants. But we guess that is what completes The Out Factory. The only thing that unites us is an infinite capacity to be amused. (The automated dome and its remote control kept us entertained for days on end.)

Our beliefs

• That each of us at The Out Factory should love to come in to work.
• That each of our customers should be happy in our yurts.
• That each thing we do subscribes to the ancient Indian credo,
parasparopagraho    jīvānām — all life is bound together by mutual support    and interdependence.
• That each of us should try to leave our little corner of the planet better than how we    found it.
• That each of us should always think the new, regardless of how silly it sounds.
We Unthink
Something good is happening in the world. People are thinking beyond concrete and 4 walls.
Places once called remote are now called destinations.
You are not defined by your neighbours, but by the lack of them.
Home was once about materials, is now about feeling.
Architecture once dominated space, now it integrates into space.
People want to build into nature, not on it.
There are no tourists any more, only travellers.
Opulence travellers now seek is not manmade, but planet-made.
No one wants a buzz, everyone wants silence. Ibiza is still popular. So is NY. But so is the middle of nowhere. Hospitality was once about excess, now it is about restraint. Hospitality is not selling beds any more, but selling stories.
People want an escape from concrete, from faces, from screens.
People want to see, hear, think, feel the new.
People want to unthink the old.
That’s what we do. Unthink.
